Ask Marilyn: This Week's 'Strictly Personal' Question

Marilyn: I work a night shift, so I don't get to watch much television, but I can hardly believe what I see on the previews. I assume they contain some of the best moments of a show, but if so, they look like they are written for 13-year-olds. What happened to shows like Seinfeld?

Marilyn responds:

A great many viewers say Seinfeld was the best of the best, so later sitcoms had a really tough act to follow. But still, why doesn't it happen? My best guess is that most sitcom producers and writers believe American viewers are juvenile.
