CHRISTNER, Karen Lee (Howell), 67, of Moundsville, W.Va., passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014, in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, W.Va.

Karen was born December 26, 1946, in Wheeling, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Howell.

She was retired frome of Tri-State Home Care and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Moundsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Roy Christner, in 2009; and two brothers, Robert and Donald Howell.

Karen is survived by her two children, Christopher Christner and his wife, Shelley of Moundsville and Carrie Ann Gordon and her husband, Craig of Middlesex, N.C.; four grandchildren, Kaylee, Dillon, Brock and Darby; and Karen's beloved cat, Annie.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Mound-sville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2014, with the Rev. Ranjan Ekka officiating.

Interment will be in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard, W.Va.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Xavier Parish or the Marshall County Animal Shelter.
