ROBINSON, Harold "Fritz" Lee, 88, of New Cumberland, WV, died peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at home surrounded by family, friends and his cat, Horace, for eternal life with our Lord Jesus Christ.

He was born April 30, 1925, in Holidays Cove (Weirton) WV, a son of the late William Nathan and Martha (Lyle) Robinson. Also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Jeanne L. (Otey) Robinson, who died December 8, 2003; two brothers, Billy and Charles F. Robinson and one sister Mary Heilman.

Fritz retired as a mill right from the Sheet Mill Mechanical Dept. of Weirton Steel Corp., and was a member of the 25 Year Club; was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where he was baptized into the church at the age of 86; and was a Charter Member of Halls Hunting Club.

Fritz was a WW II Army veteran, serving in China, Burma, and India Theater of Operation, where he drove a truck to deliver supplies along the hump.

Fritz truly enjoyed being outdoors, deer hunting, chopping down trees and splitting firewood. When in better health he operated a quad he bought for his 18th birthday, and had a special bond of 34 years with his 1979 one ton dump truck. He liked mowing the yard which he did last summer and using his artistic (painting) talents to decorate the yard.

He enjoyed eating the breakfasts offered by the State Line Restaurant and the staff. They knew his regular order by heart.

Surviving is his son, Daniel P. Robinson of New Cumberland, WV.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday, January 21, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Turley Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at 10 a.m. with Fr. Eric Antwi as celebrant. Interment will follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery.

Family would like to thank Joseph E. Schrieber, D.O., and his staff, Monica and Billie; Hancock County Senior Center; and Valley Hospice for their excellent care and support.

Donations can be made to the Memorial Fund, c/o Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1016 Ridge Avenue, New Cumberland, WV 26047.
