CHARLESTON - Tyus Wood scored 32 points and Riverside held off Magnolia despite the Blue Eagles having just three scorers in a 76-70 victory against the Blue Eagles (0-2) during the Hoops Classic on Friday night at the Charleston Civic Center.
The Warriors received 19 points from Tamar Lawson against Magnolia, which plays tonight at Marietta College against Cleveland, Ohio's Martin Luther King High School.
The Blue Eagles received all of their scoring from three players - Spencer Campbell and Zach Wilhoite with 24 points apiece and 22 from Preston Boswell.
"We've got to box out, we have to limit the opponent to one shot," Magnolia Coach Dave Tallman said. "We have to get a body on people. We need to find one more scorer, 8-10 points. We're working on that."
The Warriors, whose only senior is Wood, also received 10 points from sophomore Josh Carpenter.
