CECIL, Robert L. "Bob" "Big Country," 80, of Paden City, WV, died Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville, WV.

"Bob" was born August 24, 1932 in New Martinsville, WV, son of the late Floyd "Bud" and Freda Moffett Cecil.

"Big Country" was retired from Bayer, U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict, co- founder of Paden City Grasshopper League, former Paden City Councilman and Street Commissioner, who helped obtain grants for the new street paving, well known for his great story telling, enjoyed working on his family history and being on his computer where he made DVD's of music and historical events for everyone, loved his grandchildren and family above all else, member of Paden City Band Boosters, past president of the Ohio Valley UFO Club, coached many minor and little league teams, founder of Tyler Records, former owner of the original Dairy Clipper in Paden City, worked at Ormet, was a master guitar player who played on over fifty records (45's and 78's), operated many local radio stations in the valley and member of the Paden City Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Eva Jeannette Hayes; brother-in- laws, Chuck Hayes, Charles Fetty and Ronnie Biberthaler.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-seven years, Mary Frances Williams Cecil; sons, Richard "Rick" (Robyn) Cecil of Duffy, OH, Brian "Todd" (Tania) Cecil of New Martinsville, WV and Robert "Robb" (Aimee) Cecil of Essex Junction, VT; six grandchildren, Steven Cecil, Ricci Cecil, Evan Cecil, Halley Cecil, Hollee Candido and Brayton Cecil; four siblings, Chuck (Joan) Cecil, Jerry (Diane) Cecil, Jeanine Fetty and Jackie Biberthaler and several nieces nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes in Paden City. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Paden City Church of Christ with Brian Price officiating.

Interment in Paden Memorial Gardens to be held at the convenience of the family.

Military service will be conducted by the Honor Guard.
