WHEELING - Police officers and sheriff's deputies arrested a man in Warwood late Wednesday after he allegedly robbed a bar in the Clearview area.
Wheeling Deputy Chief Martin Kimball said several officers and vehicles responded to assist deputies in pursuing the suspect. Kimball said the suspect eventually abandoned his vehicle in the area of North 24th Street to take off on foot. Following an intense foot chase, Kimball said Wheeling officers eventually cornered the suspect near North 23rd Street and Warwood Avenue.
"He was ordered to the ground at Taser-point and complied," Kimball said, noting Wheeling officers then turned the suspect over to deputies.
Kimball believed the suspect to be a 26-year-old Warwood man, but was uncertain of his name at press time.
