The Wheeling Elks Lodge 28 has selected John Marshall High School students Danielle Kay Zacherl and Joseph P. Phillips as the October Students of the Month.

Zacherl, 18, is the daughter of Douglas and Deborah Zacherl of Moundsville. She attended Washington Lands Elementary School and is a senior at John Marshall. She is involved with the JMHS Media, member of the varsity soccer team, student council, National Honor Society and the Leo Club.

He hobbies include reading and "anything that has to do with broadcasting."She also is a member of the Wheeling Youth Leadership program and PPG Student of the Grading Period.

Phillips, 17, is the son of Larry and Paula Phillips of Moundsville. He also attended Washington Lands Elementary and is a senior at JM.

He is a member of the computer team, serving as treasurer, academy team captain, letterman soccer team member, National Honor Society member and a member of the English Literature Club.

His hobbies include chess, video games, reading, political and other debate topics.
