City Hopes Witnesses Will Return
By GABE WELLS Staff WriterHotels from St. Clairsville to Washington, Pa., were booked full in August for the Jehovah's Witness convention in Wheeling, and that is why there are concerns the event may not return next year to WesBanco Arena.
The Greater Wheeling Sports and Entertainment Authority is awaiting word from the Jehovah's Witnesses on whether they again will hold their regional convention in Wheeling. As many as 15,000 Jehovah's Witnesses attended this year's event held over three August weekends in the arena.
This week, authority Executive Director Dennis Magruder said the Jehovah's Witnesses have concerns regarding the availability and cost of Wheeling hotel rooms. In addition to hotels in Ohio and Belmont counties, Magruder said Jehovah's Witnesses rented rooms in Steubenville and Weirton. He said some of them felt they had to travel too far to attend the convention in Wheeling.
"They have a contract if they want it," Magruder said. "They are welcome to use the building on the dates on hold. We are waiting for them to say yes or no."
On Thursday, Wheeling City Manager Robert Herron said his last contact with the Jehovah's Witnesses was in the last week of the convention. At that time, he said, they indicated they would return to Wheeling. Herron said he hopes Wheeling hosts the convention next year.
Another person who hopes the Jehovah's Witnesses convention returns to the Friendly City is Wheeling Coffee & Spice owner Mary Ann Lockmer. She said the convention was a boost to her business and others in Wheeling.
"It was great," Lockmer said. "Over those three weekends, we did very well. They came over in the morning, and then they came after their lunch break. Both times of the day we did extremely well, and they were just fantastic. ... It's very good for the city, and I hope we can get them back."

The A,B,C 1 2 3 of JW Issues Jehovah's Witnesses would be obscure and no one would say anything negative about them except they cause these problems: 1) break up families under the guise of Jesus said so. 2) let kids die from no blood transfusion then say it's from God and then have all kinds of you can use blood parts loopholes. 3) go door to door and lie about why they are really there say it's to encourage Bible reading when they want to get literature in your hands ask for donation and then come back bothersome because you took literature just to be nice to them. Get rid of these 3 things and you will do fine.

YES thanks for your convention patronage same as if NRA was here or ANY other group. Many other groups would spend MORE money than mostly poorer JW's who are paying out of their family budget for the New York Watchtower corporation promotion. Are you an 'old time' Jehovah's Witness reading this in 2009? Amazing that this is now the "offer" of appeal for the world we will spend our family money as your tourist guest. There is no Armageddon and follow up new system everlasing paradise coming ,sooooo dig in for your long life in this world.

Jehovah's Witnesses Apocalyptic Paradox END of the WORLD is COMING.....but all our financial donations are *Voluntary* we disfellowship (kicked out to be condemned shunned) those who don't comply with our rules, but we don't force anybody to stay in our organization you can just walk away anytime you want to,are self-contradictory statements. Getting thousands of followers to assemble all over the world together with some favorable media PR on how they are spending tourist money in a depressed economy assures that most of the local news outlets are not going to print negative information about Jehovah's Witnesses gathering. So,if you or friend, family is being recruited by the Watchtower please go online and Google: Jehovah Witness Watchtower. If any of those charges are real, in the end, HE will have a word with them. In the meantime, they are just paying customers.

I've had all 'my' vaccinations, and I'm old. So has everyone I know. Taking something made from blood isn't the same as taking something made 'of' blood. That's why we always allowed the clotting factor. (whole blood minus the clotting factor is still whole blood.) We take antivenom for bites too. We don't break up families. We do what any family does to protect itself from unhealthy influences. We do it very reluctantly. You almost have to beg for it. (My brother walked into a kingdom hall smoking a cigarette, because they were to reluctant to disfellowship him. Now he's complaining he's being shunned. It's mostly like that. For an accurate check of a trees healthy condition, check its 'own' leaves. We have brochures on every subject.

I understand that the $$$ is quite a "lure" for the City. Please remember that the JWs sole motive is to recruit your population. The Watchtower Society will teach your people their rules: go door to door frequently to recruit all neighborhoods, go to 5 meetings a week, don't ever vote, don't ever take blood transfusions(even for their children), their children cannot participate in school holiday activities, organized sports, and are highly discouraged to go to college and commonly their families break up from within when a member doesn't want to do the religion and practice 'extreme' shunning practices toward their relatives. Since your accountability to your City is long term, I am sure you would want to be informed. Please check thousands of sources on the Internet with people who have experienced the JW reality with facts. The Watchtower Society is running scared of the Internet.

I stayed in Savannah, Georgia just recently and got a very nice room with 42" flat screen tv, swimming pool and hot tub and a nice full breakfast for $52. a night, less than what you pay for a room in Wheeling. Go figure.. Why do our motels think they are worth so much or is it price fixing.

City makes money on Jehovah's Witnesses convention. In 2009 the Jehovah's Witnesses Watchtower society PR first promotes the economy before Deuteronomy. Most of these JW conventioneers are poor families who saved up all year for these conventions to hear more false prophecies and promises. This is an a pocalyptic burn out organization that exaggerates everything.
