Former Police Chief Arrested
By IAN HICKS Staff WriterHOPEDALE - Former Hopedale Police Chief Ron Bone is in police custody on unspecified charges, according to Harrison County Prosecutor T. Shawn Hervey.
Hervey said he understood Bone was arrested Thursday afternoon, but declined to comment on the charges against Bone.
"Until I see the report, I'm not at liberty to discuss any potential charges," Hervey said, noting he expected to release more information late this morning.
Hervey said he believed Bone was in the custody of the Harrison County Sheriff's Department late Thursday.
In late August, Bone resigned as Hopedale's police chief under unknown circumstances after five years in that position. Village Mayor Bill Decker declined to comment on Bone's arrest Thursday, referring all inquiries to Hervey.
Following Bone's resignation, officials said village would receive police protection from the Harrison County Sheriff's Department.
Hervey would not say whether the reason for Bone's arrest was related to him leaving his job.
No additional information on the case could be obtained at press time.

Wheeling WAS the Friendly City, it has become a shiat hole of drug dealers, hookers, crooked politicians, and gutless police. You had a murder about 3 weeks ago, a 19 yo girl, right? And, it is not just here. It is also everywhere.People needing help to pay bills and put food on the table is also everywhere. Southern California huh? The welfare help is much higher there,as well as the cost of living,renting or buying a home. In breeding toothless hillbillies? It seems that YOU are upholding peoples views about this valley..such as the movie Wrong Turn. If it is so bad here, why are your relatives still here? Too deformed to be seen? I really hope that you got help getting your teeth fixed, and your deformities fixed with some plastic surgery so you might be able to go out at least to a hidden spot at the beach!!

Finally goverment, city officials here have stopped covering up for each other here. Something long over-due. A few doctors and attorneys, sure, EVERY place has that. BUUUUTT Look at the averages: From City Data dot com, Wheeling household median income $32,715 WV state $37,060.median house price $91,750 WV $96,000. For comparison, the town I live in the SoCal is $81,112 and $763,100 for the same points and it is POOR compared with Beverly Hills! Wheeling is a below average city in a WAY BELOW AVERAGE, poor STATE. 1 out of 4 people on food stamps. Truth ***** but is the truth Are you phucking crazy or what? How about if my data is correct, you can go waste bandwidth somewhere else and never post here again?

Hey acoustic nobody is happier than me I don’t have to put up with the small town every day sh*t like the pay scale for police chief is the same as McDonald’s so they get the bottom of the gene pool work force there, etc. The police chief in my town gets $182,000 a year; LAPD chief gets $318,000 and will retire at 80% of that. What does THIS poor sap get, huh?? I have friends and family in the Valley, like to keep up on news. The main difference between Baghdad and Wheeling is 6.5 million people and Baghdad has a growing economy. Hopedale, Ohio -- 7News has learned that the former police chief of Hopedale, Ronald Bone, 51, has been arrested and is now behind bars for allegedly having sex with a 17 year-old boy. According to prosecutor Shaun Hervey, Bone allegedly had sex with the teen inside police headquarters and while he was in uniform.
