Car Crashes Into Trailer
Officer: Alcohol InvolvedBy GABE WELLS Staff Writer
ST. CLAIRSVILLE -The driver of a vehicle that crashed late Sunday into a Belmont County residence was under the influence of alcohol, a law enforcement official said today.
Lam N. Hoang, 48, of St. Clairsville, is facing charges of OVI and failure to control his vehicle following a crash at about 9:40 p.m. Sunday on Belmont County 4 near St. Clairsville.
Today, Lt. Roger Norris of Post 7 of the Ohio State Highway Patrol in St. Clairsville said Hoang was injured after he drove a car into a trailer occupied by Harold Dyson. No one in the home was injured, but Hoang was transported to a local hospital, the lieutenant said.
Norris said he does not know if Hoang is still being treated at a hospital, but he does not believe the suspect suffered life-threatening injuries. A spokeswoman at the Belmont County Jail said Hoang has not been booked into that facility.
Dyson reportedly called 911 after the vehicle crashed into the trailer. It is not known if he was displaced as a result of the crash. The case is still under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and a complete report of the crash was not available today.
