Man Jailed For Satan Worship Request

By MICHAEL SCHULER For the News-Register
POSTED: June 23, 2009

A Shadyside man was arrested Sunday morning after he allegedly tried to get a woman to worship Satan with him.

Pete Sbockey, 46, 3753 Osage Alley, Shadyside, was charged with menacing and disorderly conduct and then transported to Belmont County Jail after the alleged incident.

According to Bellaire Police, they received a call of a disturbance on the 3700 block of Trumbull Street, around 1:15 a.m. where a woman was in her car. Sbockey allegedly began hitting the window of the car, telling the woman to get out to and worship Satan with him and made "aggressive" statements to her.

The woman began honking her car horn and exited the vehicle after police arrived. After talking with witnesses, police took Sbockey into custody.

According to Police Chief Michael P. Kovalyk, Sbockey has been arrested before. Sometime in the 1990s, Bellaire Police arrested Sbockey for making "disturbing" telephone calls to patients at Bellaire City Hospital (now Belmont Community Hospital).

Kovalyk said Sbockey was allegedly calling female patients, claiming to be a doctor. He would then make what Kovalyk said were sexually explicit and derogatory remarks to the patients. With the aid of the telephone company, police were able to trace the calls back to Sbockey, the chief said.

In a separate incident, he was also arrested for carrying a concealed firearm while staying with someone at the Carnes Senior Apartments on the 3300 block of Noble Street.

On Monday, Sbockey was arraigned before Judge D. William Davis at Eastern Division Court. According to Kovalyk, Sbockey was not represented by an attorney. He pleaded not guilty to the charged and pretrial hearing was scheduled for sometime in July, Kovalyk said.

I like the gag about calling female patients, claiming to be a doctor.
