Cameron Area Body Identified

By GABE WELLS Staff Writer
POSTED: June 16, 2009

BELTON - The body of a man found Monday in a remote area of Marshall County has been identified, and his death is considered suspicious. The body of Michael Yoho, 52, of Cameron, has been taken to the West Virginia Medical Examiner's Office in Morgantown for autopsy. Marshall County Sheriff John Gruzinskas said the body was discovered along the north fork of Fish Creek near Belton, which is about eight miles south of Cameron. Yoho was reported missing Friday by a member of his family.

Gruzinskas said a Marshall County sheriff's deputy will observe the autopsy that is expected to be performed today. The sheriff indicated an all-terrain-vehicle crash factored in the death.

"We identified the victim, and it is a suspicious death," Gruzinskas said. "It was recovered from the crash site yesterday. We are continuing to work with the family, but it is too preliminary to comment any further.

"That's where we're at," he added. "A lot is going to be based on the results of the autopsy."
