‘Wanted’ Is Packed With Action, Thrills
Action! Action! Action! And more action! This is what you’ll get when you see “Wanted,” a high-powered, fast-paced thrill ride that begins with a bang and ends with an even bigger one. This explosive film, which is based upon the graphic novels of Mark Miller and J.G. Jones, stars Academy Award winners Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie, along with James McAvoy, in a movie that very well could become an action classic. Wesley Gibson (McAvoy) is a 25-year-old office nerd who spends his days stuck in a cubicle where he constantly endures a barrage of criticism from Janice (Lorna Scott), an overbearing, egotistical bully of a woman with more interest in stuffing her face with doughnuts than in running a smooth-functioning organization. And if Wes’s misery at work isn’t bad enough, his live-in girlfriend (Kristen Hager) is having an affair with one of his co-workers and supposedly his best buddy. Is it any wonder then that poor Wes suffers from acute anxiety and panic attacks and that he spends a good bit of time feeling sorry for himself and gulping down handfuls of pills. In a word, the guy is miserable. Little does he know, however, that his life is going to take unexpected direction after a heart-stopping encounter with a stranger. One day as Wes is renewing one of his many prescriptions in his pharmacy, he senses a presence beside him and turns to find himself staring into the eyes of a striking woman who makes a remark about his father.
