Variety of Events Set for This Week

The 33rd annual Marshall County Ham Bacon and Egg Sale and Show, a meeting to kickoff the Marshall County Relay for Life Walk, the observance of Marshall County’s 175th birthday, a Craft Fair at Grand Vue Park, and the annual Marshall County Historical Society dinner are among events to be held in Marshall County this week. The Ham, Bacon and Egg Sale and Show will be held Wednesday at the Chesapeake Energy Building at the Marshall County Fairgrounds in Moundsville. All of the hams, bacons and eggs are graded, with a grand and a reserve champion for each. The sale will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the grand and reserve champions to sold be at the midway point, which is expected to be between 7:30-8 p.m. The Relay for Life meeting will be at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Betty Beebe Habig room at Reynolds Memorial Hospital. This event was originally scheduled for last month, but like other meetings, was postponed because of the weather. Anyone interested in being a part of this event is welcome. Marshall County’s birthday event will begin at 9 a.m. Friday in the front corridor of the courthouse, with a ribbon and cake cutting at 1 p.m. The GVP Craft Fair will be held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Historical Society dinner will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Grand Vue Park. Also, Saturday evening the John Marshall Boosters Club/Field Renovation committee’s 2000 Club’s annual dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Glen Dale Volunteer Firemen’s Hal.
